Although KeyWestTans officially opened its doors on September 27, 2008, the concept and development began one year  earlier. The location in the Abington Shopping Center was previously a tanning salon with a poor reputation for customer service and cleanliness. A golden opportunity knocked when the previous owner decided to close and move to Scranton.

Eddie & Eugenia Shirtz and Ed & Peggy Erris got together and formulated a plan to take over the venue and develop a boutique style tanning salon worthy of the Abingtons. So, with literally lots of sweat, blood and tears and, of course, money, the boutique design concept became reality.

The owners are all local residents with a single minded concept of providing superb customer service, impeccable cleanliness and safe, well maintained tanning equipment. Likewise, the salon’s tanning staff is a group of loyal coworkers who have a desire to see the salon succeed and flourish by carrying out our mission statement.

In two short years the salon has nearly 4000 customers attesting to the dedication and commitment of the owners, staff, and the helpful suggestions of the customers, themselves. We look forward to the future with anticipation of even bigger and better projects and ideas. Come join us as we continue to grow!
